Privacy Policy
Your privacy is critically important to us. This policy details how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect
Street Justice collects data to enhance public safety and traffic analytics. We categorize data collection into three primary types:
- User-Submitted Data: Information you provide, including your name, email, vehicle registration, and profile verification documents. For enterprise users, this also includes business details such as Company Name, Tax ID (EIN), Operating Region, and Fleet Size.
- Payment & Billing Data: For Street Justice Solutions (our B2B offering), we collect billing contact details and payment information needed to process commercial subscriptions and invoices. Larger fleet and municipal customers may be billed via purchase order and invoice, in which case we also process the purchase order number, billing/accounts-payable contact, and any procurement details you provide. Where payment is made by card, full card numbers are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, and are not stored on Street Justice servers. Consumer in-app purchases and subscriptions made through our mobile apps are processed by the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android); we do not receive or store your payment card details for those transactions.
- Telematics & Sensor Data: We collect precise geolocation data to validate driving behavior, detect incidents, and map safety hazards. Location is collected only while the app is open and in use — Street Justice does not track your location in the background or when the app is closed.
- Visual Data (Dashcam Mode): When "Co-pilot" or "Dashcam" mode is active, the application captures video of the road environment. This includes:
- Smart Scanning Technology (ALPR) data of surrounding vehicles.
- Visual evidence of traffic violations or hazards.
- Wait times, traffic flow, and infrastructure condition data.
Where your clips are stored. A clip you save stays on your device unless one of two things happens: you attach it to a report you submit, or you turn on Clip Backup (a Premium feature, off by default).
With Clip Backup on, every clip you save is copied to our servers so it survives a lost, stolen or damaged phone and follows you to a new one. Because a dashcam records whatever is in front of your vehicle, a backed-up clip may contain footage of people and vehicles that were never reported and never will be. Backed-up clips are private to you: they are not published, not shown to other users, and not shared with fleets, municipalities or partners. You can delete any backed-up clip at any time, and backups are deleted automatically after 1 year. Turning Clip Backup off stops further uploads; clips already backed up stay until you delete them or the year elapses.
- Microphone & Voice Dictation: If you use hands-free voice reporting, we access your microphone to transcribe your spoken incident description into text. The audio is processed in real time for transcription only — we do not record, upload, or store the audio itself; only the resulting text is saved to your report. The microphone is used in the foreground at your initiation and is never accessed in the background.
2. How We Use Information
We process collected data to:
- Validate Safety Scores: Your driving data is used to calculate your personal "Driver Score," which serves as the basis for app rewards and achievements.
- Verify Incidents: User-submitted reports and automated dashcam detections are analyzed (by AI and human review) to verify the authenticity of traffic violations or hazards before they are published or acted upon.
- Commercial Analytics: We aggregate anonymized data to provide "Traffic Intelligence" to municipal partners, fleet operators, and urban planners. This helps cities identify high-risk intersections and repair needs.
3. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We strictly control data sharing. We do NOT sell your personal identifiable information (PII) to third-party advertisers.
We may share data in the following circumstances:
- With Municipalities & Fleets: We invite commercial fleets and cities to access our "Enterprise Intelligence Portal." Data shared here is primarily aggregated or event-specific (e.g., a verified report of an obstruction or a reckless driving incident involving a fleet vehicle).
- With Service Providers: We share limited data with vendors who process it on our behalf to operate the platform — including cloud hosting and database providers, our payment processor, and our automated license plate recognition provider. When you use the in-app plate scanner, the image you capture is sent to that provider solely to read the plate characters and return them to the app. Payment and billing data for Street Justice Solutions is shared with Stripe to process commercial transactions, subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. Consumer in-app purchases are processed by Apple and Google under Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of any person. Note: Street Justice is not a law enforcement agency, but we cooperate with valid legal requests.
4. Data Retention & Security
Clips attached to a report are retained on our secure cloud servers for as long as the report exists, so the report keeps its evidence. Clips in Clip Backup are deleted automatically after 1 year, or sooner if you delete them. Clips you neither report nor back up are never uploaded at all and exist only on your device, where deleting them from the app or deleting the app removes them.
Incident reports themselves are retained to maintain the integrity of the safety map. Deleting your account removes your reports, your backed-up clips, your uploaded report clips, your verification documents and your profile photo.
We employ industry-standard encryption (AES-256) for data at rest and in transit. However, no method of transmission is 100% secure.
5. Your Rights
You may request the deletion of your account and personal data at any time via the "Profile" section of the app, or without the app by following the steps on our account deletion page. Please note that public safety reports you have submitted may be anonymized and retained if they have already been verified and entered into the community safety database.
